Our Cause: Channel 3 Kids Camp

Munch Madness is a charity event aimed at raising money for the Channel 3 Kids Camp. The camp's mission is to provide the best outdoor educational experience for disadvantaged boys and girls. The campers' families pay a minimal amount to attend, thus the camp relies on donations and fundraising to cover its costs.

Located in the historic and scenic communities of Coventry and Andover, Connecticut, the Channel 3 Kids Camp provides children an opportunity to attend a high-quality program that positively impacts their lives. The camp is dedicated to providing a small group living experience that will create understanding and a feeling of community, reinforce teamwork, build self-confidence, and educate about the world they live in. The camp focuses on tolerance, acceptance and patience.

The Channel 3 Kids Camp takes prides in providing both exceptional recreational and educational activities for the children to experience. The highly successful Leadership Development Program recognizes previous campers for their outstanding behavior, positive attitude, and leadership traits. With the proper guidance and positive experiences, we believe these 20 carefully chosen youths could be among the leaders of tomorrow, if given the opportunity.

The Explorers, 13 and 14 year-olds, learn the skills necessary to live successfully in a close-knit community and to become positive role models for our younger campers. The CIT's, 15 and 16 year-olds continue their leadership development with mentoring from senior counselors, guest speakers from the community, and the carrying out their many initiatives and responsibilities.
